Dual-Zone Refrigerated Truck Rental in Abu Dhabi — Chilled and Frozen in One Trip Hire Today

Chiller Logistics offers refrigerated truck rental in Abu Dhabi and Dubai from 480 AED per day, running two independently controlled compartments so chilled and frozen cargo travel in the same vehicle on the same route. Set the frozen side to −22°C and the chilled side to +2°C, load both, and make one delivery round instead of two.

For any business moving mixed loads — caterers, retail restocking, hotel supply — that’s one driver, one route and one fuel bill instead of two trucks doing the same work. We hold four dual-zone trucks, one in each tonnage from 3 to 10 tons, so this class is worth booking ahead rather than calling in in the morning.

Tell us your chilled and frozen split — call or WhatsApp to check availability.

Only Need One Temperature? Two Better Options

Dual-zone costs more than single-zone, and if you’re only running one temperature you shouldn’t be paying for the second compartment.

Chilled only, 0°C to +8°C — take a Chiller Truck, from 400 AED a day across the same four tonnages.

Frozen only, −18°C to −25°C — take a Freezer Truck, from 450 AED a day.

Both on the same run — you’re on the right page. Read on.

Two Compartments, Two Set Points, One Journey

The box is divided by a movable 80 mm insulated bulkhead running on ceiling-mounted sliding tracks, sealed with dual perimeter compression gaskets. Each side has its own evaporator fed by direct refrigerant flow — not a fan damper or an air curtain — which is what allows genuinely independent control rather than one cold source shared between two spaces.

Chilled compartment
Frozen compartment
0°C to +8°C, typically set +2°C to +4°C −18°C to −25°C, typically set −20°C to −22°C
Fresh produce, dairy, prepared trays, beverages Frozen protein, seafood, ice cream, frozen bakery
Dedicated primary evaporator Dedicated secondary evaporator

Both run at once. The frozen side holds −25°C continuously while the chilled side sits at +2°C, with no thermal transfer across the bulkhead.

The split is yours to choose. 50/50, 60/40 or 70/30, in either direction depending on which side carries more.

Configured before dispatch. Repositioning and pressure-sealing the bulkhead takes around two hours including a dual-zone pull-down test, so tell us your split at booking.

Or run it as one zone. The bulkhead stows flat to give a single box, fully chilled or fully frozen — though a dedicated single-zone truck rents cheaper for that work.

Four Trucks, Four Sizes — 3, 5, 7 and 10 Ton

One dual-zone truck per tonnage, four in the active fleet. Multi temp refrigerated truck capacity in Abu Dhabi is specialist rather than volume stock, so pre-booking matters more here than anywhere else in our fleet.

  • 3 Ton — 4 Euro pallets. Splits 2 chilled / 2 frozen, or 3 chilled / 1 frozen. City routes and single-venue delivery where a larger box can’t park. Optional 1,000 kg tail lift, light vehicle licence. A 3 ton refrigerated truck rental in Abu Dhabi suits restaurant groups and small catering runs.
  • 5 Ton — 6 Euro pallets. Splits 3/3 or 4 chilled / 2 frozen. The most-booked size, covering multi-drop retail and foodservice rounds without heavy licence requirements. Optional 1,000 kg tail lift.
  • 7 Ton — 8 Euro pallets. Splits 4/4 or 5 chilled / 3 frozen, with a 1,500 kg tail lift as standard. Wholesale distribution and larger event supply. Heavy licence required.
  • 10 Ton — 12 Euro pallets. Splits 6/6 or 8 chilled / 4 frozen, standard 1,500 kg tail lift. Full-load intercity work and warehouse consolidation. Heavy licence required.

Refrigerated Truck Rental Cost Per Day — All Four Tonnages

Self-drive rates, published in full.

Truck
Daily (AED)
Weekly (AED)
Monthly (AED)
3 Ton480 2,850 7,500 – 8,500
5 Ton580 3,450 9,200 – 10,200
7 Ton6804,100 11,000 – 12,000
10 Ton900 5,200 13,000 – 14,500

Compare that to running the load in two vehicles. A 5-ton dual-zone at 580 a day does what a chiller truck at 500 plus a freezer truck at 550 does — 1,050 against 580, before you count the second driver, the second fuel bill and the second delivery slot at a receiving bay that can only take one truck at a time.

Rates are self-drive. Add one of our drivers at 100–150 AED per day depending on duty hours and route. Monthly refrigerated truck rental in Abu Dhabi carries the lowest per-day figure and waives the deposit on vetted corporate accounts.

When One Truck Beats Two — Working Out If Dual-Zone Pays

Take a catering company delivering a Thursday event: chilled produce and prepared trays on one side, frozen proteins and desserts on the other, both landing at the same venue inside the same setup window.

Run it in two single-zone trucks and you’re managing two drivers, two arrival slots and two loading windows — into a venue bay that takes one vehicle at a time, so one truck waits while the other unloads and your frozen pallets sit on a hot dock. Run it dual-zone and it’s one manifest, one arrival, one unload.

Dual-zone pays when one side of your load is smaller than the other — a mostly-chilled round with a few frozen pallets, or the reverse. That’s the 70/30 and 60/40 split, and it’s the most mixed-load work.

It doesn’t pay when your chilled and frozen volumes each fill a truck on their own. At that point two single-zone vehicles carry more total cargo for a lower combined cost per ton, and we’d tell you to book those instead.

Send us your pallet counts on each side and we’ll tell you honestly which way the numbers fall.

Mixed Loads We Move Every Week Across Abu Dhabi

Catering and events — chilled prep and frozen proteins to the same venue on the same schedule, usually 60/40 chilled-heavy, delivered inside a fixed setup window.

Supermarket and convenience restocking — the frozen aisle and the chilled aisle replenished in one round rather than two, with the split shifting week to week by demand.

Hotel and resort F&B supply — daily kitchen deliveries where fresh produce and frozen stock arrive together, typically chilled-heavy with a smaller frozen allocation.

Dark kitchens and meal-kit operators — chilled ingredients and frozen components on a single last-mile round, where a second vehicle would double the delivery cost per order.

Mixed-cargo distribution — wholesalers serving customers who order across both temperature bands, consolidating what would otherwise be two separate delivery schedules.

HACCP, ADAFSA and ASATEEL Certified — Both Zones, Every Load

A dual-zone truck carries food at two regulatory temperature bands in one vehicle, so the compliance has to cover both.

HACCP certified — food-grade GRP interiors in both compartments, sanitised between rentals, with hygiene documentation for your own audits

ADAFSA compliant — food transport verification for Abu Dhabi, so mixed loads clear hotel, hospital and hypermarket receiving bays without a documentation gap on either side

ASATEEL registered — certified on-board units linked to the Abu Dhabi ITC platform, giving clean gate access into Mussafah, ICAD and KIZAD

Dubai Municipality permitted — food transport clearance for the Dubai leg, so intercity mixed loads don’t stop at the emirate line

Owned and maintained in-house — our own workshop, our own fleet, since 2012

Licence, Deposit and Setting Your Zone Split

One thing works differently here: the bulkhead position is set before the truck leaves the yard, so your booking needs the split as well as the dates.

Licence: 3 and 5-ton need a UAE light vehicle licence; 7 and 10-ton require Category 4 heavy. Self-drive on the larger pair is available only where your driver holds Category 4.

In the rate: multi-temp unit servicing, scheduled maintenance at our workshop, bulkhead configuration and the dual-zone pull-down test, interior sanitation, comprehensive insurance with a 1,500–2,500 AED excess, and breakdown cover with a replacement vehicle where a same-day repair isn’t possible.

What you bring: the correct licence, Emirates ID and trade licence copy. Deposit is 2,500 AED on the 3 and 5-ton, 3,500 AED on the 7 and 10-ton, refunded within 14–21 business days and waived on vetted corporate monthly accounts. Fuel full-to-full, Salik and Darb at cost. Mileage runs 300 km daily or 6,000 monthly, then 1.00 AED per km on the lighter pair and 1.50 on the heavier.

Minimum hire: one day on the 3 and 5-ton; three days self-drive on the 7 and 10-ton, or a single dedicated trip with a driver.

Booking runs like this: tell us your chilled and frozen pallet counts and dates → we confirm the split, truck and a firm rate → licence, documents and deposit → collect from Mussafah with both zones pre-cooled, or we deliver.

Areas We Serve Across Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Beyond

Mixed loads tend to mean multi-drop, and multi-drop means the route geography matters as much as the distance. Inside Abu Dhabi our dual-zone trucks work Mussafah and the ICAD zones, KIZAD and Khalifa Port, the city and Khalifa City, the Yas and Saadiyat hospitality circuit, and out to Al Ain and the Western Region — with ASATEEL registration keeping the gated zones open without a clearance wait.

Refrigerated truck rental in Dubai runs on the same terms. Collect from Mussafah or take delivery into the emirate, covering Al Quoz, Ras Al Khor, Deira, Jebel Ali and Dubai Investment Park. Dual zone refrigerated truck rental for Dubai routes is where consolidation earns most — a single vehicle serving both temperature bands across a city round beats sending two down the same corridor.

Temperature controlled truck hire across the UAE extends to Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain at the same rates.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. The bulkhead is an insulated panel with compression gaskets on both edges, not a curtain, so the two compartments behave as separate boxes. Cargo can sit flush against it on either side without a cold spot.

Frozen first, and quickly — it has the furthest to fall if the doors stay open. Load chilled second, since a few minutes above set point costs it far less.

Yes, that’s the point of the layout. The rear compartment opens through the rear doors while the front stays sealed, so a mid-route drop from one zone doesn’t cost you temperature in the other.

Both compartments are monitored independently with their own set points and readings. Tell us at booking if your receiving bays need documentation and we’ll have it ready with the vehicle.

Call before you load. Repositioning is a yard job rather than a roadside one, so we’d rather swap the configuration or the vehicle than have you run a load in the wrong ratio.

Some customers do — one takes the chilled side, one the frozen, splitting the day rate on a shared route. It works where both deliver in the same area; tell us and we’ll help structure it.

Yes. Collect from Mussafah or take delivery into the emirate, on the same rates and terms as Abu Dhabi.
